Map Size & Scale
According to community mapping projects and analyses of the trailers, the GTA 6 map is expected to be significantly larger than GTA 5's Los Santos and Blaine County. Many estimates suggest the map could be up to 70% larger than GTA 5's world.
For perspective, the original Vice City map from the 2002 game was approximately 5.62 square kilometers, while GTA 5's map featured about 48.15 square kilometers of land. The new iteration of Vice City alone will likely be many times larger than its original incarnation, with the entire state of Leonida offering a vast playground for players to explore.

The Community Mapping Project
Following the tradition started with GTA 5, the GTA community has been working on a collaborative mapping project for GTA 6. Using information from the official trailers, leaked footage, and careful analysis of landmarks and road signs, fans are piecing together a detailed representation of what the full map might look like.
The GTAForums community in particular has been instrumental in this process, analyzing every frame of available media to identify real-world Miami and Florida locations that have been recreated in the game.
Future Expansion Possibilities
Some rumors suggest that Rockstar might adopt an "ever-evolving map" approach for GTA 6, potentially adding new cities and regions after the initial release. While this remains unconfirmed, it would align with the ongoing success of GTA Online and the games-as-a-service model that has become increasingly common in the industry.
